Fajitas are amazing. Tacos are great. Half chicken is solid. BYOB and cash only. Sometimes there is a wait but it is worth it. Great atmosphere. At times there are bands there and it can be loud, (I don't mind it at all, but others might), but very authentic.

This place is such a staple in Pilsen. The food is always so good. Love the carne asada

I celebrated my cousin's birthday at Canton Regio in Pilsen, and it was an unforgettable experience! The 2 kilos of skirt steak, shrimp skewers, and chicken skewers were a carnivore's dream. The highlight was when the lights dimmed, and they surprised my cousin with a sombrero while playing the Mexican happy birthday song - a festive touch that made the night truly special. Great food, lively atmosphere, and top-notch service! Just a note, the restaurant is BYOB and cash only, so do come prepared!

I found Cantón Regio through Yelp as I was searching for a restaurant that was in Chicago's southside, easy parking, and of course, latin food. That brought me to Pilsen neighborhood. Cantón had lots of great reviews and photos, so I figured why not? It was raining out, and I gladly welcomed the chicken soup that was sat in front of us without requesting. It comes automatically along with chips and salsa. My husband decided to get tilapia tacos, but the main event for me was the steak fajitas. It comes with refried beans and guacamole. I'm generally not a fan of refried beans, but I'm so glad that I didn't tell to not give them because these were the best refried beans I've ever tasted in my entire life! We were too full to try dessert, but I definitely have to make another trip to taste the other menu options. The fajitas alone would make Cantón Regio one of the mexican restaurants in Chicago. If you ever visit, this restaurant is cash only, no credit cards accepted.

Still one of the very best neighborhood Mexican spots around. If you haven't been yet, you lose.

Stopped by with a couple friends for dinner. We ordered a 1/2 kilo of arrachera and guacamole with everything. The steak also came with grilled onions, peppers, and homemade flour and corn tortillas. The steak was cooked perfectly medium/medium rare! The beans had great flavor. This was the perfect amount of food for 3 ppl and we will be back! Be aware, they are CASH only but there is an ATM inside!

Had a great service and the food was awesome. The food presentation was nice and pleasant. Authentic food options and everything was great. Had dinner there recently and I enjoyed the food so much. The Queso Panela taste great and flavorful. The Chicken skewers has nice flavors and well-seasoned food. The sauces were fantastic. The portions were satisfying, the price was reasonable. Friendly staff.

The queso fundido with chorizo is really good, really stretch cheese, but a bit too salty the shrimp skewers are very tasty, you get 3 big skewers of shrimps and bell peppers, the shrimps are marinated pretty well the kilo steak comes with a steel pan, and very tender and tasty we came here for weekend brunch, and it's always packed with a long wait. For Friday dinner if you come before 6, it is usually ok with minimal wait cash only!

Hey are you craving a kilo of skirt steak? Same!!! Canton regio is where to order said kilo of skirt steak and eat via taco or on its own. It comes with bulbous grilled green onions and grilled jalapeños! The restaurant is quite bustling and loud and the tables are crowded and always full, I love the lively atmosphere but when there's music playing you have to shout a tad. It works for me because all I do is scream and stuff my face full of food. Service is speedy and awesome and although it's one of the pricier places in Pilsen, it's worth a nice sit-down visit!

10, 10, 10's across THE BOARD! Some of the best Mexican food in Chicago for real. Very authentic and so delicious. The queso fundido is to die for! The aranchera steak!!!! Y'all it's so tender and flavorful. They make their own tortillas that literally melt in your mouth. I always take them home and eat them and they still taste good. It is byob, but the drinks they do have are great. I've done a birthday celebration here and I had a ball. Their deserts are good too and dont play with their breakfast either! Ambiance is very ranchero vibes, love it. It's always packed for a good reason. Cash only, so you know it's good! Highly recommend!
